In order to achieve true "hold button" activation, we created a small module called a TEHMA (telephone extension hold music activator). This line-powered activator sends a signal down the phone line telling the GOHP 7000 unit whether or not the phone is on hold. Only phone extensions with a TEHMA can put a call on hold with the phone's hold button.

Phones without a TEHMA can put a call on hold by pressing the star key twice and then pressing the phone's hold button.

The GOHP 7000 ships with 2 TEHMAs.

The GOHP 7000 works with virtually all single and multi-line phones, even those that do not use a KSU system, and the new cordless phone systems (requires use of a head set).

The GOHP 7000 works just like the on-hold audio feature on big, expensive, PBX and KEY phone systems. Just push the HOLD button on any extension and the GOHP 7000 grabs the line and plays on-hold audio to it. To release the on-hold condition, just pick up any phone extension. It's that simple.

The GOHP 7000 provides on-hold audio on one to four lines and on up to 50 different phone extensions.
